Anya Anti

Anya Anti is a New York-based, internationally published and award-winning photo artist specializing in on-location fine art and conceptual portraiture. Originally from Ukraine, she moved to the USA in 2014. Anya has been practicing photography since 2010, self-taught, gaining her knowledge and inspiration through social media and online photography communities. A year and a half later, she began creating surrealistic fairy portraits, which became her preferred genre and a hallmark of her work. Anya strives to create beyond traditional portraiture by constructing dreamlike sets that rely on beauty, symbolism, metaphor, and association to convey fantasy, whimsy, and intangible ideas. For her, photography is the perfect medium of self-expression through imaginative storytelling; she uses it as a way of collecting material to create something that would otherwise be impossible to capture. Installations, costumes, and Photoshop manipulation help her embody these fantasies into a finished piece of art. As a workshop instructor and speaker, Anya has taught in numerous countries, spoken for brands such as Broncolor, Adobe, and Nikon, and appeared on platforms including Photo Plus Expo, WPPI, and Adobe MAX. She has showcased her work in exhibitions and been published around the globe.

What if you could create elaborate, believable fine art composites without relying on stock images? Join award-winning fine art conceptual photographer Anya Anti and discover how thoughtful set design, simple props, and creative problem-solving can transform your photographs. Anya will share her process for planning and photographing physical elements specifically for a final composite, including how to match lighting, color, perspective, and scale. She'll then demonstrate how she brings everything together in Photoshop using masks, adjustment layers, blending techniques, and color correction. Through before-and-after examples and a live editing demonstration, you'll see how simple, separately photographed elements can become a cohesive finished work of art. You'll learn how to plan and photograph a set specifically for a final composite; match lighting, color, perspective, and scale for realistic results; use props as storytelling and compositing elements; and combine your own photographs in Photoshop using masks, adjustment layers, and blending techniques.
