Learn to Build Your Flash Exposure From Scratch | Francisco Hernandez
Stop copying someone else's settings and learn how to find your own. In this hands-on photo walk, attendees will build an off-camera flash portrait from scratch with Francisco Joel Hernandez, breaking down each decision along the way. Attendees will learn how ambient exposure and flash work together and how to make intentional adjustments instead of guessing at settings or relying on a lighting recipe. What you will learn: how to establish your ambient exposure before adding flash, how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO affect your image, how to introduce flash and determine the power you need, how to troubleshoot an image that's too bright or too dark, and how to build a repeatable process for creating OCF portraits. Recommended gear: camera, SD card, and portrait lens (prime lens recommended). A Godox/Flashpoint trigger compatible with your camera is recommended.
